If you eat tofu, you can rest easy knowing that your tofu is being cared for and that you are supporting the local economy. Buy this press and let the tofu do the work! Does one tofu brick press really do the job? Yes. A couple of plates and some towels. After you tighten the screws to a snug fit, you can start to gently squeeze the water out of the tofu. It takes a bit longer than I expected, but the tofu is more likely to break apart if you rush it instead of following the directions. Check out EZ Tofu Press at Amazon now

"You probably didn't wake up today thinking, "I'm going to be staring at my phone reading reviews of brooms, toilet paper, and tofu presses", but here you are. This might even be the highlight of your day. Life, right? Fermented soy products are truly a gas. Did you know you can eat tofu raw? Really. You can if you want. This thing really squeezes the h2o out of your bean cake. I squeeze all my cakes now. It's the best. In my youth I would have scoffed at this product and built my own for pennies on the dollar, but these days I'm thinking, "screw it", literally, as that's all you have to do with this thing. Screw it. Hasta la Vista, liquid! YUMMM"
"I can’t believe I went so long putting tofu straight in the pan. I saw Jenna Marbles and her boy Julien cooking some good food and that video convinced me that I needed to try pressing the liquid out of my tofu first for optimal texture. Like the peasant I am, I used a textbook and a bunch of paper towels my first time around and kind of tore up the whole brick. It improved the tofu’s pan fry quality substantially. I then decided it was time to get the real deal and live like royalty. I bought this, received it, read the directions, and used it as intended. Best overly specific kitchen gadget I own. The boards are cutting board material making cleaning a breeze. Dish soap and water. Dishwasher safe if you feel obligated. Never have issues with the tightening fixtures. I personally center the tofu between the boards and tighten until the tofu is secure. Then I flip it on the side because I don’t have a container big enough to fit it flat to catch the drippings. Side note my cat LOVES to drink the water from the tray I drain it in to. Haha Good simple product. Recommend to every friend."
"How did I ever live without this in my life? I use it almost daily! It is super sturdy, so easy to us, with a great and simple design, and excruciatingly useful and effective for pressing tofu. Oh, and my dog absolutely adores the box it came in. Just a bonus, but worth mentioning."
"A couple of years ago I bought the other tofu press being sold on Amazon, the one that uses a spring and costs twice as much as this tofu press. Having to replace that press (I lost it during a move), I decided to try this one. To my surprise, it's not simply as good as the spring version, it's distinctly better. This one removes more water, works faster, and produces a better tofu block that's more dense and a slightly chewy. The directions that accompany this tofu press recommends pressing the tofu down to 1" to about 7/8", and includes a handy little card for measuring. The photo I've included with my review is the press at just under 7'8". As you see, the extra-firm tofu doesn't crumble, it just cracks a little. So much water is removed. As you see in one of the pictures, 1/2 cup of water was removed. If you marinate your tofu, perhaps in low-sodium soy sauce, this drier tofu quickly absorbs the marinade, resulting in flavorful, delicious tofu."
"Not sure how so many had issues with this product. I have pressed a fair amount of tofu and ended up every time using way too many paper towels. This is a waste for our pocket books and our landfills. The directions are very clear. It cannot be used on silken tofu. No problemo as I rarely use it. To center the block at the highest position before pressing. Again, no problemo! Then twist the screws evenly every few minutes until desired dryness of your tofu. Unless you are eating raw tofu and have no other prep to do then this should not take up time. Multi-task. My tofu is very dry, not crumbled. don't press the heck out of it! The ONLY downside, if it is a downside, is I purchased organic extra firm tofu and the block is much thicker than other brands. It did not fit in the press even at the highest setting. I resolved by slicing it in half lengthwise and viola - pressed 2 pieces. I would encourage you tofees out there (my term and you can use it) to try this product."
"Absolutely love this. Makes perfectly firm tofu, is easy to use, and has totally changed my tofu game. Use it at least once and a week!! Prior to this had never managed to get firm tofu even with the many books and cans on a towel method. This is a no brainer!!!"
The best plastic tofu press is in our opinion the EZ Tofu Press. Set up is easy and clean up is very easy. No more paper towel or plates to mess with. Just put the tofu in the press, and tighten the bolts. The tension mechanism works quickly and efficiently, and the press is ready to go in 15 minutes. If you cook with tofu you need a tofu press and the EZ Tofu Press is good quality for a good price. This tofu press is great! We used to go through a ton of paper towels and dish towels to press out the water. No more! We place the tofu in the press, and come back and hour later, pour off the water, and set it in the sink to drain.
Some people like wooden tools and some like plastic, if you are among the latter this tofu press is for you. Do you eat tofu? If so, this product is the perfect one for you. I love it. I had no idea such a thing existed, but I just LOVE it! So much better than using books and paper towels to press out the moisture. You can store a lot of the water from using books and paper towels and just compress a tad on a plate or a divider in the sink. Then just compress a little more in the refrigerator and it will come out better. This is simple and effective. It's super easy to use and it does a great job! I highly recommend this product.
Since the material in this tofu press is plastice it is easier to clean than for example a wooden press that might soak up liquids. The EZ Tofu Press is a great product made of very high quality materials that works extremely well. Very easy to use and easy to clean. Makes pressing tofu a breeze and elevates the quality of tofu from average to great. People will definitely be happy with this. I have been a vegetarian for 17 years but I've avoided cooking with tofu because the prep is so annoying - weights and towels, always a mess. This product changed all that. The tofu drains in 15 minutes or less. After you tighten the screws to a snug fit, you can place the tofu in the press, and let it drain for 10-15 minutes, checking on it periodically to squeeze it down a bit more.
Great product, easy to use and easy to clean. Great for pressing tofu quickly and accurately. A Very well built tofu press. For the price this unit sells for nothing more elaborate than this. The press is very sturdy and I don't anticipate any problems with it. The only thing that I would change is for it to somehow stay open by itself so that you dont have to try and hold it open while you struggle to put the tofu in between the plates. After being vegan for a few years, I finally decided to face my fear of tofu head on lol.
The EZ Tofu Press is very durable, it has no springs or bands that usually break after a while. the EZ Tofu Press does the job while you prep your meal. Be sure to put it on a plate to catch the water. Awesome product. I absolutely love this thing! No more screwing around with paper towels, doing the balancing act with heavy objects while waiting a half hour or more just to get a couple tablespoons of water out. With this press, I always squeeze out at least a half cup water! I never would have thought that there is actually that much water in a brick of tofu, and I can squeeze it out in less than 10 minutes!!The difference in taste and texture over the traditional pressing method is much better. The tofu sucks up marinade like a hungry sponge now, and it gets crispier after sauteing.
Works well; need to be squeezed out of tofu first for maximum water removal. (This is accomplished by following the directions.)If you eat tofu frequently or even occasionally and have the room in your kitchen buy this. It is easy to use and can be assembled easily. (A few firm, minor adjustments are all you need to tweak the tofu to your liking.)Solar powered or otherwise, this thing works. I plug it in whenever I'm preparing a meal and it immediately goes into action. Cranking the screws every few minutes, it's not very long until I'm ready to dish.
