Love this Scoop! I believe this is the last Scoop I'll ever need! I'm really impressed with the Spring Chef ice cream scooper. It's working great for us, and is a great replacement for the hard-to-clean and less effective one we used before. On our previous model, we push a lever and it was supposed to push out the ice cream. Not with this model, it seems to be pretty sturdy. I’ve worked at an ice cream shop or two or three years ago when things were a little easier. All owned scoopers or otherwise had to resort to elbow grease or worse. Spring Chef has come up with the best model I've seen to date. Check out Spring Chef Ice Cream Scoop at Amazon now

"The routine before eating ice cream in my house, is this: While watching a movie, someone says, "Let's have ice cream," to which everyone replies a resounding, "Yeah!" I get off the couch, take the ice cream out of the freezer, pry open the lid, and attempt to scoop the ice cream out of the container. When the spoon starts bending, I leave it all on the counter, announce to everyone, "Gotta let it soften a bit," and continue watching the movie. At some point much later, someone remembers the ice cream melting on the counter and in an alarmed voice declares, "The ice cream!" as if some great catastrophe has occurred. I jump off the couch again, pour the ice cream into everyone's bowls, and go back to watching the movie. For years when that happened, I would remind myself to purchase a heavy duty ice cream scoop. Well, I finally remembered! I went to Amazon.com because I'm a guy and haven't shopped in an actual store for years. I looked at a couple of pages of ice cream scoops, and there it was...the Spring Chef Ice Cream Scoop. The picture itself says "heavy duty". I ordered it, and because I'm Amazon Prime, got it within 2 days. Our ice cream was, as usual, hard as a rock and I thought it would be a good time to try it out. I was very surprised at how effortlessly this rugged ice cream scoop dug into the hardened ice cream, but better yet, my hand wasn't sore afterwards thanks to the comfortable, thick rubber handle. Totally worth it! Looks great too! We can now have our ice cream and eat it too, instead of sipping it. (not really, but you get the point) Wish I remembered to purchase this years ago!"
"I was tired of bending spoons or microwaving my ice cream just to get a few scoops from the container so I thought I'd try a tool that was made for scooping ice cream. I searched for some and the color of this one caught my eye so I bought it and got far more than I had bargained for. This has a great feel in the hand, is very hefty and sturdy, and slices through rock hard ice cream like it was butter. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go buy some more ice cream!"
"Bought a Good Cook Ice Cream scoop at the local grocery store (shown in picture). It was a round scoop with a lever to move a blade across it to help release the Ice Cream. Soon the blade came apart. The plastic handle began to crack. Bought a Spring Chef (shown next to the Good Cook Scoop). The Spring Chef hand is not bulky (unlike those no-stick, dishwasher-unsafe scoops. The Spring Chef handle is solid all the way from scoop through the end of the handle. The ice cream scoops are nice and round ice cream balls. Unlike the stainless scoop I had before, one doesn't have to dig out the ice cream. BTW: never ran the Good Cook or the Spring Chef through a dishwasher; just hand washed with soap/water. From the picture, see how much cleaner the Spring Chef appears...John B."
"Growing up, my family household always had a more old fashioned ice cream scooper that was fairly basic. It was difficult to use with very frozen ice cream, so when I moved out I was on the hunt for a better ice cream scooper. I ended up going with an ice cream scooper that has the dispensing mechanism - pressing a button moves a lever that pushes the ice cream out. This worked well for a long time until I moved into a new house and misplaced my old ice cream scooper. I decided to buy this scooper because of the great reviews it had on Amazon. I'm glad I went with this purchase, it's actually much better than the ones with the lever dispensers. It holds great in the hand due to the slight curve of the handle. The edges of the scoop part is sharp which makes it very easy to carve into the ice cream and get big scoops of ice cream. Great scooper overall, highly recommended!"
"3 months later... I love this scoop. I'm here to buy one for my mother-in-law. It cuts through hard frozen i.c. so well. it's so easy, I tend to make a bigger bowl than I meant to. Oh darn. :) You know you're getting older when the utensil you're using hurts to use. This scoop is awesome. it's comfortable in your hand and has weight but isn't too heavy. Best part? it cuts right through hard frozen ice cream like a dream! Don't even need to run it under water of any temperature! So easy to use you'll have a bigger bowl of ice cream than you meant to get! and no hand pain!"
"My boyfriend put my old ice cream scoop in the dishwasher and ruined it--one of those that must be hand washed. I tossed it, and went searching for a new one. After reading all the reviews (and instead of getting the same old thing), I noticed that the most enthusiastic purchasers were those who had bought the Spring Chef Ice Cream Scoop. I ordered it, and WOW! It's true! This is the most fantastic ice cream scoop EVER. I've had two others prior to this one, but there is NO comparison. I have hand and finger issues--fused joints in three fingers--and this is absolutely the easiest tool to use--it glides right through the hardest ice cream. And, bonus, I can throw it in the dishwasher."
The Spring Chef Ice Cream Scoop is by far the best ice cream scoop we have tried. This is a fantastic ice cream scooper that works amazingly well and is surprisingly comfortable to use. The only thing I've found before that would do that was those great big spades that cut ice cream slabs. This makes curled scoops. I was searching for a scoop that the wider than the round scoops designed to scoop for cones. This one fit the bill. It has good heft to it and bites easily into soft or frozen ice cream and then the ice cream doesn't cling much to the scoop when you turn it over. I highly recommend it and the price is modest. With the ice cream scoop from Spring Chef you can easily create perfect spheres of ice cream. This is a great ice cream scooper that is easy to clean and holds great in the hand. It is a very solid piece and cleans up easily. It is a wonderful design and I can't imagine needing another for several years. I have used several scoops. I have tried the good old fashioned one with the spring loaded release and the solid metal one with the spring loaded release. I have also bent several scoops on hard ice cream. Finally I found one that easily scoops gelato and releases it into the bowl. I have bent many other scoops too but this one withstands the test of time and is solid and well made. Love this so much! Bought it for my daughter. I believe I will ever need another one. It is beautiful and heavy and cuts right through ice cream even when it’s frozen solid. My old faithful scoop finally broke and I was on the hunt for a new one.
Spring Chef has managed to fill this ice cream scoop with so many brilliant features. This is a great ice cream scooper that is solidly built and very well designed. The feeling of it in the hand is fantastic and the scoop is amazingly easy to clean. I have very sharp eyes and this scoop has no optical sharpness to cut through frozen ice cream. Other than that it's a pretty good ice cream scooper. I liked these so much when I ordered them. I had a scoop that was a little bigger than a round scoop, but it scooped the same ice cream easily. I had another that you had to heat with a lighter, but it still scooped fine. I had never really cared much about this, but it is super useful and I will be using it as often as I can. I have used several scoops, even spoons. When the ice cream is soft, most all work ok.
You can make perfect spheres even from the hardest ice cream. Great ice cream scooper, won't be disappointed! I’ve had a lot of ice cream scoops in my day. The fancy ones with the motion sensor that you squeeze and it crushes your ice cream. The simple kind like the Nopro (while inexpensive, they're cheap, do a crap job of scooping, and just generally break eventually). This one by Spring Chef (and I see a lot of similar ones under different brand names) is by far my new go-to. It's comfortable in the hand but more importantly the shape allows you to easily scoop iced cream from corners, edges, round pint containers, even if the ice cream is hard as a rock - this sucker will cut right through it. The only downside: doesn’t last very long (imo). I was looking for a scoop that the wider than the round scoops designed to scoop for cones. This one fit the bill.
The Spring Chef Ice Cream Scoop is ergonomic and well designed. It works great, cut thru hard ice cream like butter, and it feels great in the hand. This is a fantastic ice cream scoop that works amazingly well and is easy to clean. Love it! I read all the reviews before I bought it and was very surprised at how positive all the reviews were about. I have a cut I’m going to get rid of it soon. I love this ice cream scoop and it’s so easy to dish out ice cream. It’s also easy to clean. I bought this product based on the remembrance of one we had on a Navy ship in Pearl Harbor. No need to warm it up before use (however, please do wash it before the FIRST use). I dipped it into a half gallon of rock-hard Moose Tracks ice cream and it cut right through the ice cream, the swirled chocolate ribbons, and the miniature peanut butter cups - it all came out rolled into the neat balls one usually gets in an ice cream shop.
